Lastovo, a small island in Dalmatia (English)

Lastovo is a small island in southern Dalmatia, two hours by ferry from the neighboring island of Korcula (from the port of Vela Luka).

Very few people live there and few tourists arrive to the island, which allows you to enjoy beautiful landscapes.

On the island there is only one hotel (Solitudo), although there are many apartments and rental houses.

Lastovo is also the name of the town that is the capital of the island. Quiet and beautiful, you can always find a coffee or a place where to write a book, or just let the hours pass.

It is an island ideal for diving, hiking, trekkink, mountain bike (with good roads), navigation, camping …

And if you like to enjoy a good meal in a lovely place, both day and night, I recommend the restaurant “Porto Rosso” in the natural harbor of Skrivena Luka … wonderful fresh fish and fine Dingač wines.

Lastovo is a small island that can be crossed by car in less than an hour.

I invite you to become impregnate with its calm and the reminiscent of the ancient Mediterranean.

Korčula, the city and the island

Korčula is a fantastic island that can be reached easily from Dubrovnik.

There are several options: by ferry from Dubrovnik (www.directferries.es / jadrolinija.htm orhttp://www.jadrolinija.hr) or by car from Dubrovnik to Orebić (1.5 hours) and from Orebić embark the car to the ferry to the city of Korčula (Korčula on the island).

We recommend the travel by car because the passage through the interior of the Pelješac Peninsula is beautiful, with charming villages and quiet beaches. It also passes through Potomje, full of small wineries where you can taste and buy the superb wine Dingač.

Orebić has a promenade with old houses and magnificent palaces.

City of Korčula is a little Walled city, flirty and … very beautiful. The birthplace of Marco Polo. The island is also very very beautiful, and it is good that you get lost a little on it, in their towns, but above all, beautiful beaches … From Smokvica turn aside from the coast road towards Brno and follow the direction of Vela Luka …

From Vela Luka is also posible to take ferry to Hvar, Split and other islands…

Ston, Mali Ston and Prapratno

Ston and Mali Ston are at the entrance of Pelješac peninsula, on the road from Dubrovnik to Korčula.

45 minutes by car from Dubrovnik and 1 hour from Korčula.

In the Bay of Mali Ston you can see plantations of oysters, the wall (5 KM) that surrounds Mali Ston involving the whole mountain to Ston and the tower on the harbor.
You must visit Mali Ston, three streets, harbor and tower … And two or three good restaurants in the port (good quality and not very high price).
In Ston, apart from a small walk through the village, you can visit the wall, up to mid-mountain and salt factory.
Beside Ston is the town of Prapratno, with a nice sandy beach …
I recommend you also visit Prapratno.

Ston walls are the second largest in the world, right after the Chinese wall.
